To be honest, the item I was most looking forward to in the little HJY series was the T-shirt.
I wanted to turn a drawing my child made when they were about two years old into actual wearable clothing.
And the result?
It was much prettier than I expected.
The first thing I liked was the color scheme.
The actual colors were much prettier than they looked on the screen.
With the black character placed against a vivid red background,
the character comes to life clearly.
The simple lines and free-spirited vibe characteristic of a child's drawing were also well-expressed.
It looked better than I expected when worn, too.
Since the character isn't excessively large,
it doesn't look childish,
and actually feels like a small brand logo.
The front features just the character,
while the back includes the little HJY logo.
So, there are points of interest on both the front and the back.
What I particularly liked was
the fact that this drawing was originally a scribble by a two-year-old. Seeing the child, now a middle school student, wearing a T-shirt featuring a drawing from their childhood,
was strangely touching, more so than I expected.
However, there was one regrettable aspect.
Above the logo on the back,
there remained an indentation that appeared to have been caused by the pressing process.
While it seems likely to soften with washing or use,
it was definitely a disappointing point based on the first impression.
It stood out even more because the design itself was so satisfying.
Overall Rating

✖ The indentation on the back is a drawback
The stamp arrived.
To be honest, I had high expectations.
The mug turned out well,
I liked the pouch,
and I thought the Little HJY character itself was just so cute.
But once I actually tried stamping with it, it was a little different from what I expected.
Rather than saying it was pretty,
well-made, or
satisfactory, the first thought that crossed my mind was,
"Ah, this is driving me crazy."
I had only stamped it once on white paper,
but it felt as if the scribbles my child had drawn around the age of two had suddenly come to life.
Crooked hair.
A round face.
Awkward arms and legs.
And a bright smile for no reason.
It felt like the Jiyeon of those days had reappeared on the paper.
I particularly liked the colors.
Instead of bright ivory or pink tones,
I chose calm brown tones,
and thanks to that, the vintage atmosphere came alive more than a childish feel.
Even though there is only one small character,
it strangely feels like a product from a stationery brand.
The character is also alive just as it is.
It is not a well-drawn picture.
However, it possesses the unique freedom and quirkiness characteristic of children's drawings.
The crooked lines,
and the awkward proportions,
actually, make it even cuter.
Perhaps the charm of a child's drawing lies not in its perfection,
but in the fact that it captures the time of that era.
I actually made this for Jiyeon,
but after receiving it, I wanted to keep it for myself even more.
It would be good for putting cosmetics in,
or earphones or a charger,
and it would also be fine to use as a stationery pouch.
It is also more practical than I expected.
My first impression upon receiving the actual item was that it was much cuter than I had imagined.
The clumsiness and freedom characteristic of a child's drawing were perfectly preserved.
The uneven lines,
the simple expressions,
and even the awkward proportions.
In fact, those very qualities became the unique charm of this character.
I also liked the mug itself.
Thanks to the subtle dot texture,
it doesn't look too shiny and gives off a warm feeling.
Whether I'm drinking coffee in the morning,
or tea,
my eyes keep lingering on it.
What I like best of all is
that this cup is not just a simple piece of merchandise.
To some, it might just be a small character mug,
but to me, it is a cup that holds the memories of when my child was at their smallest.
I think I will likely continue to use it for a long time to come.
It is masking tape featuring my signature.
Actually, I didn't make it out of necessity.
Some might ask, "Why bother?"
But strangely enough,
I wanted to turn my signature, which I have used for a long time, into a small tape.
As I spent more time writing,
creating drawings,
making merchandise, and
recording things,
I began using 'my name' a little more often.
The first impression when I received it was that it was neater than I expected.
I particularly liked how the gold signature shone subtly against the white background.
It looks quiet from a distance,
but it has a presence up close.
Perhaps it resembles the atmosphere I like.
I actually tried sticking it on my laptop. When making bookmarks,
when wrapping,
when decorating letters or diaries,
I think it could be used like a small signature.
It isn't a grandiose brand, but
being able to put my name on something I made
feels better than I expected.
The eco-bag I had been waiting for has finally arrived.
To be honest, I was a little worried when I ordered it.
That is because the feel of the actual product can differ from what you see on a screen, and the print quality or colors might also differ from expectations.
However, the moment I received it, I had only one thought:
"It turned out exactly as I imagined."
The front features a calm blue-toned image expressed naturally; it looks like a work of art without being overly flashy.
On the back, the word "observe" is printed in small yellow.
To observe.
I like it even more because it is a word that strangely connects to the ecology, art, people, and writing I have been interested in lately.
What I liked most was that
the feeling of "making an item that reflects my taste" was stronger than the feeling of "making merchandise."
Although it is just one bag,
it feels like a small record containing the atmosphere and perspective I love.
It is great for carrying a book,
and it seems like it would go well with going to an exhibition or taking a walk. This is the first eco-bag I've ever made,
and I'm much more satisfied with it than I expected.
I think this will probably be the bag I carry around the most for the time being.
I’ve been telling myself every year that I should make this as a gift for my daughter... but it’s been a long time since she was in kindergarten... so I finally commissioned one for the first time in a while. Thank you for printing my daughter's character, which I drew for the first time in a while, with such high quality. As expected, I am very satisfied.
I made this as a gift for someone who owns a cat😺
It's seriously so cute... I hope the recipient likes it!
I gave a photo of my cat to Chat GPT and asked them to create something with that kind of vibe, then downloaded the image and had it made on Marpple!
